Janet worked as a music editor on Wonka for nearly a year and a half throughout all stages of post-production – a contribution which earned her an MPSE Golden Reel nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Music Editing – Feature Motion Picture.

Joining the team at the outset of post-production, Janet was involved in temp score composing and score conception, introducing and managing conforming workflows to address the film’s complex editorial demands, and ensuring precise audiovisual synchronisation.

Further responsibilities included pre-mixing, recording preparation and scoring session attendance at Abbey Road Studios and AIR Studios, music and dub mix preparations, dub mix attendance at Warner Bros. Studios, final deliveries, and music cue sheets.

Based on the extraordinary character at the center of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Roald Dahl’s most iconic children’s book and one of the best-selling children’s books of all time, the box office hit musical Wonka tells the wondrous story of how the world’s greatest inventor, magician and chocolate-maker became the beloved Willy Wonka we know today.

Wonka was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Outstanding British Film of the Year, followed by 43 more nominations worldwide, including 5 nominations in the category Best Song (World Soundtrack Awards, amongst others).
“Devout Wonkarians are rewarded with nods and winks: a turn of phrase here, a visual echo there, or a tinkling of Pure Imagination in Joby Talbot’s magical score. (The suite of new songs, by Talbot and his old Divine Comedy collaborator Neil Hannon, are witty and wondrous: a set of instant, hear-once, hum-forever classics.” The Telegraph
