As Supervising Music Editor and Score Editor, Janet managed and oversaw the music production workflow for The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim across three continents – New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Mexico – consistently facilitating the seamless coordination and fulfillment of all artistic and technical requirements throughout every stage of post-production.

In close collaboration with Emmy Award-winning composer Stephen Gallagher and Grammy Award-winning music producer and mixer Mark Willsher, this included introducing and overseeing a workflow for a highly complex conforming scenario, preparations for 44 recording sessions across three contents (string, brass, percussion and choir), scoring session attendance at Air Studios and Angel Studios, and score editing (including score editing sessions at Abbey Road studios).

Stephen Gallagher’s 130-minute score was nominated for Best Original Score for an Animated Film at the International Film Music Critics Award (IFMCA) and is currently long-listed for the Public Choice Award at the World Soundtrack Awards.

Executive produced by Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh, with a screenplay by Philippa Boyens – all of them writers of the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies directed by Peter Jackson, The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim is based in the “Jackson-Universe” of Tolkien’s saga. This also includes composer Stephen Gallagher and music producer / music mixer Mark Willsher, who both were part of the creative musical core team of the trilogies. Additional key creatives from the trilogies also include John Howe, Alan Lee, and Richard Taylor, who collaborated again with WETA and used their models of Edoras for their concept art.

“This film shares much of the same creative team that worked on the Jackson films, and the unforgettable music, by Stephen Gallagher (music editor of the “Hobbit” trilogy), immediately sets this world within Jackson’s universe.” The New York Times
